Samsung Galaxy S11 Plus will have a 108MP camera

OPTICXCESS - Samsung Galaxy S11 Plus is rumored to be carrying the first 5X zoom periscope camera and launching the latest 100 MP camera. This news was first leaked by IceUniverse. Reporting from Slash Gear (15/12), the latest images show three rear cameras with a vertical design. The camera combination consists of a wide, ultra-wide, and telephoto camera. Not to forget there is an LED flash that is on the side of the main camera.

Earlier this year, Samsung acquired Corephotonics, a company specializing in zoom cameras for smartphones. The acquisition is known to be worth USD150 million. Previously Corephotonics was the company behind the Periscope camera on the Oppo smartphone.
Reportedly the main camera on the Galaxy S11 Plus will have a resolution of 108MP, larger than most other smartphone camera sensors. Ice Universe said that Samsung will use a new sensor that has the same number of pixels, and is more advanced than ISOCELL Bright HMX. Reportedly this camera will not only have 2.4μm in size but will also produce 12MP images by default. It's a kind of pixel binning technology that combines 9 pixels into 1 and not just 4 pixels, resulting in a 27MP Bright HMX output.
